How can we help?
Healthy Minds Psychologists offers specialised support exclusively for children aged 7+, young people, and adults with neurodevelopmental and/or intellectual disabilities, including but not limited to Autism and Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome).

This narrow, deep focus ensures that our team is highly proficient in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and other strategies necessary for managing behaviours of concern and confidently operating in complex situations, such as those requiring a 2:1 support setting.

We do not provide clinical medical care or assistance, such as nursing services or hoisting.

Positive Behaviour Support Plans
The PBS Plan is a living document, co-designed with the individual and their support network. Our team of registered PBSP practitioners can work with you to develop a Positive Behaviour Support Plan that meets your needs.
2
Positive Behaviour Support
A plan is only as effective as its implementation. Our exclusive focus on adolescents and adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities ensures we bring a deep, nuanced understanding to every case, including complex behaviours and environments requiring 2:1 support ratios.

At Healthy Minds Psychologists, the professionals responsible for delivering and overseeing our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) services are formally known as Behaviour Support Practitioners (often referred to by clients as "Behaviour Therapists").
This team brings a unique blend of qualifications and practical experience, combining applied behavioural science with a deep, compassionate understanding of neurodevelopmental and intellectual disabilities.
We ensure successful outcomes by:
-
Training & Consultation: Providing direct, practical training to support workers, family members, and key stakeholders on how to consistently apply the strategies in the plan.
-
Ongoing Monitoring & Review: Regularly collecting and reviewing data to monitor progress, evaluate the plan's effectiveness, and make necessary adjustments to ensure lasting, positive change.

Support Work
Beyond formal plans, our Support Work Services provide the practical, hands-on, and highly specialised assistance needed for adolescents, young people, and adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities to thrive.

Our Support Workers are specifically trained to work in environments informed by Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), ensuring consistency with every individual’s goals and strategies.

What We Offer:
PBS-Informed Daily Support: We deliver day-to-day support with a clinical lens, proactively implementing strategies from the individual's PBS Plan to teach replacement skills and reduce behaviours of concern within natural routines.
Building Independence: We focus on skill development across all aspects of daily life—from essential self-care and household management to budgeting and navigating public transport—always promoting the greatest level of autonomy and choice.

Community and Social Inclusion: Our support workers facilitate meaningful engagement, helping individuals access educational, vocational, or social opportunities. This includes using specialized communication supports and sensory accommodations to ensure successful participation in the community.

Complex Needs Expertise: Our team is highly proficient in managing complex support environments, including 2:1 support arrangements, ensuring safety and consistent, skilled care even in demanding situations.
